Tecnópole en Verde
We are a technological ecosystem in a self-sustaining and friendly environment
Within Tecnopole´s Strategic Plan 2023-2025, we find the Sustainability Strategy, aiming to efficiently improve the Park´s sustainability management, with the following operational objectives:
1. Development of an SDG map
2. Reduction of Tecnopole´s carbon footprint
3. Promotion of activities regarding sustainability
4. Creation of the first business Energy Community
5. Construction of a Wooden Singular Structure

Sustainability operational objective
1. Development of an SDG map for Tecnopole´s management entity
Tecnopole is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and perspectives for people all over the world.
In 2015 all member states of the United Nations approved 17 Objectives, in the framework of the 2030 Agenda to achieve Sustainable Development, which stablishes a plan to achieve these Objectives within 15 years.
The activity carried out by Tecnopole´s management entity has a direct impact in 7 out of 17 SDG.
It is worth remarking that Tecnopole´s scientific dissemination is focused on the need to take action to empower women and girls (SDG 5) and guarantee quality education (SDG 4)

2. Reduction of Tecnopole´s carbon footprint
- Calculation of Tecnopole´s carbon footprint
- Creation of Tecnopole Forest to compensate the carbon emissions of the managing entity and, in the near future, of its resident companies. Tecnopole Forest has 1.800 trees so far, from 8 Galician native species: strawberry tree, birch tree, chestnut, holly, Galician pine tree, oak tree, cork tree and service tree.
3. Promotion of activities regarding sustainability
Tecnopole has just joined the United Nations Global Compact, committing to the 10 Principles for corporate sustainability. Thereby, Tecnopole builds a strategic framework associated with the 2030 Agenda.

4. Creation of the first business Energy Community
Tecnopole has been chosen by the Xunta de Galicia to implement the first business energy community in Galicia. The Park´s resident companies will generate their own renewable energy, with the consequent savings and will benefit from the economic and social advantage related with these kinds of policies.

5. Construction of a Wooden Singular Structure
Construction of an enclosed and permanent space in a plot near the Park´s main building. The structure will be singular and made out of wood. The aim is to have a building for events celebrated by the Park, its companies or third parties. The proposal is to have a free floor building, with a 15m transversal light in a 600m2 surface. From an architectural point of view, the building is organic, given that it reminds us of shapes present in different natural structures.
